Male Libido

Another name for the male libido is the sexual drive.  Some men lose their male libido when they get older.  This can be caused by a hormone imbalance as well as some prescription medications.  There are also psychological factors that can cause a loss of male libido.

Most men have a healthy libido in their late teenaged years and early 20s.  As a man gets older, his libido begins to decline.  In some cases, a man appears to lose interest in all sexual activity for no apparent reason.  This can cause a problem in his relationship.  If a man is married, his wife may blame herself for his loss of libido, or think he is having an affair.

As men get older, their libido is not as strong as it was in their younger years.  This can be due to the lack of blood flow in the pelvic region.  Many medications that are prescribed by physicians, such as Viagra, increase the libido by increasing blood flow. Natural male enhancement pills can also work in the same way, without the potential negative side effects.

There are also psychological factors as to why a man can lose his libido.  This can be due to the following:

Ÿ         -Depression

Ÿ         -Insecurity about his sexual prowess

Ÿ         -Insecurity about the size of his penis

Ÿ         -Stress

Ÿ         -Relationship problems

Severe depression requires medical attention.  Insecurity, however, can benefit from counseling.  There are also many different natural supplements and male enhancement products that a man can use to increase libido. The loss of libido in a man is something that should be addressed, especially since there are so many ways to increase male libido.  If you find you lack the desire for sex, do not be embarrassed to speak to your physician.  This problem is very common and most men suffer from it sooner or later in their lives.  In most cases, it can easily be treated.
